To contribute toward renewed coordination and leadership for women, girls, gender equality, and HIV, World YWCA &  Athena Network are launching a virtual #WhatWomenWant campaign.

Women Deliver 2016

Are you attending  Women Deliver ?
During the Women Deliver Conference, the  World YWCA will have an ‪ #‎Egumeni‬ Safe Space Hub with support from UNESCO from the 17th to the 19th located in booths C4-058/59 in the Exhibition Hall. It will be a safe space for young women and girls to relax, network, participate in a fun social media campaign, discuss among each other, and hold intergenerational dialogues with leaders in the field. 

International Girls in ICT Day

Today, April 28, is International Girls in ICT Day. It’s a day to share the power of technology and encourage girls and young women to consider studies and careers in information and communications technology (ICT).

Every year on April 24, YWCAs around the world observe World YWCA Day. It’s a day to celebrate our common membership and achievements in creating positive change for women, young women and girls around the world. This year's theme is "Creating a a more inclusive world". The World YWCA invites you to take part in our World YWCA Day (#WYD16) Twitter Chat. We would like people to join us in celebrating the World YWCA, its movement and to engage in discussions about ‘Creating a more inclusive world.’ We are rich in diversity, and our members and supporters include women from many different faiths, ages, backgrounds, beliefs and cultures.

The World YWCA day is an annual day of celebration established in 1947, at the World YWCA Council Meeting in Hangchow, China. During this day we commemorate the common membership to one of the world's largest movements, dedicated to working for the empowerment and advancement of human rights of all women, young women and girls. 

Photo Contest

On April 24 it's World YWCA day! The theme this year is “Creating a more inclusive world” and we are having a photo contest to celebrate.

Go ahead and participate by sharing a photo which completes the following sentence: “To create a more inclusive world, we need to….”

Japan Earthquake

The YWCA of Japan is calling for support given the series of massive earthquakes which has hit Southern Japan since 14th April 2016. 
We would be very grateful for your help in spreading the information, for your prayers and contributions to their work to support women and  children affected by the disaster.
